TexBet

Another proudly Australian owned and operated betting site, TexBet offers a solid online wagering experience via the familiar BetMakers platform. Their racing coverage is strong for both local and international harness, gallops and greyhounds with the added bonus of live streaming via TexBet TV on selected races. Their racing odds were found to be comparable, albeit in some cases, slightly shorter than some of the big corporate betting sites.

In terms of sports betting, the amount of same game markets were limited compared to the bigger sites as is often the case with smaller bookies, and in some cases their favourites were priced slightly shorter than the larger betting agencies.

In August 2022, TexBet was purchased by BetR – the newly released betting site produced by Matthew Tripp.

Picklebet

Based out of sunny Brisbane, Picklebet is a fast growing betting site who offers Australia’s best betting experience on esports betting (think Call of Duty, League of Legends, Dota 2 etc).

Beyond their market leading esports offering, Picklebet has been working hard on their real world sporting markets – now offering an impressive range of same game multi options across popular Aussie sports like AFL, NRL and more.

With horse racing being noticeably absent in previous years, Picklebet were pigeonholed as a E-Sports specialist. However you’ll now find an impressive range of local and international thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing markets available to punt on.

With the advancements into real world sports & racing – and a super slick website and app experience – Pickletbet are fast becoming a genuine alternative to the larger corporate bookmakers.

ZBet

Another wholly Australian owned and operated betting site, ZBet launched in 2021.

Like the other online betting sites run on the BetMakers underpinnings, ZBet offers a slick betting experience with strong coverage across all domestic and international racing. ZBet TV also offers live streaming of international events.

Like other smaller betting sites, their sports offering in terms of in game markets is limited.

Overall ZBet does little to differentiate itself from other online betting sites.

Which One Would We Choose?

Previously we thought TexBet were the logical choice out of these three Australian bookmakers. They offer a healthy range of markets, strong odds and now have the backing of BetR which is fast shaping up as one of the best betting sites in Australia. However, don’t discount Picklebet! Their efforts to broaden their markets coupled with their market leading e-sports offerings make them a worthy consideration.
