TexBet vs. Picklebet vs. ZBet

TexBet

Another proudly Australian-owned and operated betting site, TexBet offers a solid online wagering experience via the familiar BetMakers platform. Their racing coverage is strong for both local and international harness racing, gallops, and greyhounds, with the bonus of live streaming via TexBet TV on selected races. Their racing odds were found to be comparable, albeit in some cases slightly shorter than some of the big corporate betting sites.

In terms of sports betting, the number of same-game markets was limited compared to the larger sites, as is often the case with smaller bookmakers, and in some cases, their favorites were priced slightly shorter than those of the larger betting agencies.

In August 2022, TexBet was acquired by BetR, a newly launched betting site developed by Matthew Tripp.

Picklebet

Based in sunny Brisbane, Picklebet is a fast-growing betting site that offers Australia’s best betting experience for esports betting (think Call of Duty, League of Legends, Dota 2, etc.).

Beyond its market-leading esports offering, Picklebet has been working hard on its real-world sporting markets. It now offers an impressive range of same-game multipliers across popular Australian sports, including AFL, NRL, and more.

With horse racing being noticeably absent in previous years, Picklebet was pigeonholed as an esports specialist. However, you’ll now find an impressive range of local and international thoroughbred, harness, and greyhound racing markets available to punt on.

With advancements in real-world sports and racing, a sleek website, and a betting app experience, Pickletbet is quickly becoming a genuine alternative to larger corporate bookmakers.

Betting Options: ESports & Sports

ZBet

Another wholly Australian-owned and operated betting site, ZBet, launched in 2021.

Like the other online betting sites run on the BetMakers underpinnings, ZBet offers a slick betting experience with strong coverage across all domestic and international racing. ZBet TV also provides live streaming of global events.

Like other smaller betting sites, their sports offering in terms of in-game markets is limited.

Overall, ZBet does little to differentiate itself from other online betting sites.

Which One Would We Choose?

Previously, we thought TexBet was the logical choice out of these three Australian bookmakers. They offer a healthy range of markets and strong odds, and now have the backing of BetR, which is fast shaping up as one of the best betting sites in Australia.

However, don’t discount Picklebet! Their efforts to broaden their markets, coupled with their market-leading e-sports offerings, make them a worthy consideration.
